Shoprite Director businesswoman Senator Sylvia Mthethwa calls for more women in leadership positions, says companies must commit to gender diversity.

MBABANE:Senator Sylvia Mthethwa,the Shoprite Director has called for more women in leadership positions, emphasizing the significance of gender diversity within the various companies and all sectors of the society.

The businesswoman was speaking during the High Women Breakfast Meeting held at the Hilton Hotel-Mbabane on Thursday.

“While women are increasingly entering the workforce,our numbers in executive leadership remain modest.The time for change is now-organizations must commit to gender diversity, and women must assert their voices, advocate for leadership opportunities, and actively mentor the next generation of businesswomen”, she said.

The event was also attended by high profile women that include Senate President Lindiwe Gwebu-Dlamini, Eswatini Action Group Against Abuse(SWAGAA) Executive Director Nonhlanhla Motsa-Dlamini, Miss Eswatini Temvelo Mtsetfwa, Ministry of Health Clinical Dietitian Thandi Mazibuko, Bishop Ncamsile Nzima and Micheline Koube.
