MBABANE:Petros ‘Pat’ Vilakati, the Chief Executive Officer(CEO) of the Premier League of Eswatini(PLE) says Manzini Wanderers was never relegated as the relegation was halted by the courts pending finalization of the matter.
Responding to this Swaziland News on Tuesday when asked to clarify how the decision to incorporate the giant team back into the Premier League was reached, the CEO first clarified that, Manzini Wanderers was never relegated in the first place.
“That decision is based on the position that MW was never relegated as the courts had ordered that pending the conclusion of the court matter, they must not be relegated.The developments in court coupled with the resolution of the 2024 AGM to increase the teams in each league (Premier and NFD) informed the strategy adopted by the PLE”, he said.
Thousands of Manzini Wanderers fans received good news on Monday after the PLE Management announced the official incorporation of the team back into the Premier League.
