MBABANE:Thulani Mkhonto, the Mbabane Mayor says he forwarded the Swaziland News article to Chief Executive Officer(CEO) Gciniwe Fakudze, urging her to launch an investigation into the alleged illegal selling of land by some current and former Councillors.
Responding to this Swaziland News on Wednesday, the Mayor stated that as a public institution, they don’t want to be seen ignoring such serious allegations.
“Even though I’ve engaged them and they have shared their side of the story regarding the selling of the land, I’ve instructed the CEO to launch an investigation and submit a report. As a public institution, we don’t want to be seen ignoring such serious allegations”, said the Mayor.
Councillor Simangaliso Gama and former Mayor Zephaniah Nkambule stands accused of being involved in the illegal selling of land at Mahwalala, Make Diana Ntombizodwa Mnisi was allegedly defrauded one hundred thousand Rands(R100,000.00) and is demanding her money back.
The court ordered that, Mnisi must be paid in installments of ten thousand Rands(R10,000.00).
