As a result, frustrated residents reported the closure of the Police Station to the media.
Senior Superintendent Phindile Vilakati, the Police Spokesperson, declined to comment about the matter.
On another note, all Police Stations in the country are expected to operate 24-hours and provide services to the public with police officers alternating during lunch, however, Sithobelweni police are normally seen in the nearby butchery eating after closing the Police Station.
