OSAKA:Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini says eSwatini’s trade with Japan currently stands at $13.6million(over R200million) and this includes Japan imports, he invited more investors to consider establishing businesses in the Kingdom.
The PM was speaking this week during the ongoing Expo 2025 held in Japan-Osaka, Commerce Minister Mancoba Khumalo is part of the delegation.
“We aim to change this by increasing exports of timber, citrus, jams, sugar, textiles, and handicrafts-particularly from women-led enterprises. Leveraging Japan’s Generalized System of Preferences (GSP), we seek preferential access for ‘Made in Eswatini’ products to grow this partnership equitably,” said the PM as quoted by Government online platforms.
The PM further briefed the investors on the country’s ambitious Programme of Action, which he described as bold and aimed at upgrading infrastructure, streamlining business processes, and achieving UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
