King Mswati allegedly told his children not to accept SwaziPharm Director Kareem Ashraff’s money, says “loMndiya utabakhipha labekadla nabo lemali usenkingeni ngalendzaba yemaphilisi”.

MBABANE:King Mswati is alleged to have warned his children during a private meeting, not to accept cash from SwaziPharm Director Kareem Ashraff.

Speaking to this Swaziland News, one of the King’s children said, the King expressed serious concerns with the conduct of Ashraff saying whenever “he meets the businessman, it’s easy for him to badmouth or speak about people”, who accepts or previously accepted monies from him.

“Inkhosi yakukhuluma strongly yaze yashintja laBusweni yatsi “asenikhulume liciniso kute yini imali yaleli-Ndiya lenayidla ngoba nalifika lakimi lulwimi lakhe lulula mani, ukhuluma kabi ngebantfu atsi lona nalona udla imali kuye(meaning:Speak the truth, did you accept any money from this ‘Indian’ because he normally speaks about people who took money from him)”, said the King’s son.

The Prince further said, the King directed this specific question to Prince Sicalo and the Defense Principal Secretary(PS) clarified that, he never took anything from Ashraff.

“Yabese itsi iNkhosi “kuncono-ke ngoba leNdiya akulihambele kahle mani kungenteka lingene enkingeni ngalendzaba yemaphilisi, manje liphakuta lakimi litongitjela ngebantfu labanye lelidla nabo lemali, liyatsandza kukhuluma kabi ngebantfu manje nangabe nidla nalo litanikhipha”, said the Prince.

King Mswati’s Spokesperson Percy Simelane previously told this Swaziland News that, the King was so eager to see the shortage of drugs investigation concluded and those implicated arrested.

Swazipharm Director Kareem Ashraff declined to comment amid rampant looting of public funds but, he denied any wrongdoing when speaking to the Swazi Observer amid investigation into the shortage of drugs in public hospitals, dozens have died since the crisis erupted.

On another note, King’s Spokesperson Percy Simelane vigorously denied that, the King was involved “in the looting of billions allocated to purchase drugs but clarified that, the Monarch was only using monies allocated to him by Parliament as per the national budget”.
