MBABANE:Business Eswatini (BE) has successfully lobbied for eSwatini’s removal from the final list of cases to be discussed by the Committee on the Application of Standards (CAS) during the 113th Session of the International Labour Conference (ILC) in Geneva.
In a statement sent to this Swaziland News on Thursday, the organization for businesspeople said, this decisive victory underscores the strength of tripartite engagement in Eswatini and reaffirms the Nation’s commitment to resolving labour issues through constructive dialogue rather than international litigation.
“This Committee is actively formulating Rules of Procedure for the LAB, ensuring fairness, transparency, and legitimacy in social dialogue mechanisms,” reads the statement in part.
Business Eswatini President Mvuselelo Fakudze and Chief Executive Officer(CEO) Nathie Dlamini, were among the delegation that successfully lobbied for the removal of eSwatini from the list of cases to be discussed by the Committee on the Application of Standards.
The latest developments suggest that, eSwatini is no longer under special international scrutiny on workers rights violations as some of the issues that were previously of major concern, have been addressed subsequent to a Fact Finding Mission by ILO.
