OPINION:Police salary increment must come with back-pay not theories, pending Phase two(II) remains the biggest fraud worsening the lives of law enforcement officers.

Saturday, 7th June, 2025

The ongoing salary review for civil servants including police officers must be addressed to correct the social injustices of the past.

In this regard, the salary increment must come with a back-pay as per the 2014 Gazetted Circular awarding the police officers a salary increment, we don’t want theories and misleading political statements from corrupt and greedy political rats.

Each junior police officer who was already employed in 2014 is entitled to over one hundred thousand Rands(R100,000.00) back-pay, even police officers who were employed after the 2014 Circular are entitled to the back-pay, even though it might be slightly less depending on the number of years.

King Mswati approved this money when elevating the then Police Commissioner to the position of National Commissioner but, the political rats opted to loot the money allocated to improve the lives of the junior police officers.

In this country, we have greedy and corrupt political rats who strongly believe that, they deserve to live a luxurious lifestyle while others live in squalor, it’s an oppressive mentality that must condemned and completely eradicated because it promotes poverty and inequality.

It should be noted that, by depriving police officers their salary increment, you are actually starving the entire country because these officers have children, wives, husbands, parents and other members of extended families who must be taken care-off with this money.

The Consultants currently reviewing the salaries must address the 2014 Circular, any salary increment for junior police officers without the above mentioned back-pay would be a systematic robbery or pickpocketing from the already financially broke junior cops and, must be rejected.

We must learn to be fair in this country and give all citizens what belongs to them, State resources particularly taxes must be enjoyed by all emaSwati particularly civil servants who provide services to the Nation.

As the situation stands, we have a police service dominated by financially broke junior police officers but we expect those officers to fight crime on empty stomachs.

We thank Members of Parliament(MPs) like Marwick Khumalo, Mayiwane MP Sicelo ‘KhungaNkhosi’ Dlamini, Deputy Speaker Madala Mhlanga and all MPs who supported the motion seeking to demand the salary increment for these law enforcement officers.

Public Service Minister Mabulala Maseko who tried to deprive the police officers their salary increment when addressing the Honorable House of Parliament must be ashamed of himself.

This alleged corrupt and greedy political rat from Maphalaleni Inkhundla wants to live a luxurious lifestyle while others languish in poverty.

I was present at the Police Headquarters in 2014, attending a press conference with other journalists when the then Prime Minister Barnabas Dlamini announced this salary increment and therefore, I won’t stop writing until the police officers receive an “in-contact” and with a back-pay.

Indeed, I can’t keep quiet because I have all the information in this matter, the magnitude of this Phase two(II) fraud suggest that, we should be having powerful corrupt political rats behind bars but, we are lenient by demanding the back-pay due to the law enforcement officers.
